Did you know...
That 90% of the population visit parks and green spaces, a huge amount which adds up to 2.5-4 billion visits to them every year!
Although Love Parks Week is an event itself, Love Parks is an initiative to encourage people to celebrate parks and green spaces, and recognise the hard work done up and down the country to protect and maintain our parklands.
Love Parks Week is an annual awareness-raising event managed by "Keep Britain Tidy", and aims to help communities keep their green spaces and provide high quality parks for now and the future.
Why get involved?
A report by the Heritage Lottery Fund discovered that parks are at risk due to underfunding. It is important that we all get involved and raise our voices to share with others the importance of these parks and green spaces. As more and more local authorities are having to reduce their investment in parks and green spaces, the responsibility is falling on community groups to continue their upkeep.
