What is Earth Day?
Earth Day dates back to 1970, and has since grown to unite over 50,000 partners in almost 200 countries in expanding the environmental movement.
By focusing on one day of the year, the Earth Day Network brings environmental issues to the public’s attention, to encourage refreshed commitment to tackling them. Earth day is the largest community event in the world, with more than one billion people from all backgrounds participating in Earth Day Network’s campaigns every year.
INSPIRATION - What Can I Do?
Earth Day is about more than just one day, you can use this as the impetus to change yourself, your community, and your world. Here are some ideas:
What is the Earth Day Network?
The Earth Day Network works constantly to propagate environmental awareness, and promote environmental economic policies around the world. The network also works to engage and inform societies around the world to act more considerably, to ensure that the world we live in is preserved and remains a healthy place for future generations.
Earth Day Network aims to broaden the definition of “environment”, not only to include the obvious aspects of environmental thinking, but to bring to the world’s attention any issues which affect our health and our communities. They do this through activism; campaigning to stop air and water pollution, to create green jobs and investment in the green sector, and to “green up” deteriorated schools.
