With the building design planned out, talks revolved around the uses of each room and the energy needed for the centre.
The Earthship is to be really efficient with its energy as an example to the community of a ‘green’ building and help raise awareness. Combined with this, the centre must be able to serve Worcestershire as a fantastic community centre, with large meeting rooms and areas for people to come together in social groups. Finding the right balance is not easy, but with the help of Worcester Council architects the meeting was really successful.
The architects are meeting with the Wombles again at Worcester Volunteer Centre on 20th October for further discussions about the Earthship, and to continue with the direction of designing and building a fantastic centre for the Worcestershire community. It’s an exciting time for Worcester Roots!
