Our job for today, back to the usual, was filling in the Tyre steps with wood chip again, but firstly our wood chip pile seemed to have got lost among all the over grown nettles, so the first job was to clear that. Not the best day to wear shorts, as one of our newbies soon found out.
As we were clearing away all the nettles, this big slimy thing just popped out of know were and caught my eye, it was a toad. I picked him up and posed for a picture, the same as I did a couple of years before. Well dears, it was like a reunion, meeting up with an old friend again. I'm convinced it was the same toad, he gave me that same dirty look.
Once we had cleared all the nettles, we could access the wood chip, so after our lunches we started to grab it by the barrow load and take it over to the Tyre steps up by the big hump. As I was pushing a barrow up the path I could see a long blue pointy thing at the corner of my eye, poking out of a bush, 'aye up' I thought 'whats this', so I went over to investigate and it turned out to be an arrow. A little momentum for the day, how it got there I don't know, but I hope there isn't anymore flying around.
We were like dogs buring a bone, when we were putting the wood chip into the Tyre's, some of us were holding up the flaps while the others filled it in. it was hard work and by the end of it we had dirty bums and aching arms, but job satisfaction as well, we even tired the shed before we left, didn't we do well. Until next time, goodnight.
