This Friday at the Nature Trail the group finished off the last of our big surveys, we should now have enough to put together a bug species list. This week I sat down with Maria, who's been doing the bug surveys, to ask her some questions on how she's been getting on while working on the nature trail project. This is what she said.
How has volunteering on the nature trail helped you?
It's got me out the house and kept me busy, also it's been very educational, I've learnt lots of stuff about the local wildlife.
What have you enjoyed the most?
Looking back at all the hard work we've done and seeing the difference and working with the young volunteers.
What's been your least favourite thing about volunteering on the trail?
Getting bit a lot by all the bugs.
Would you recommend the trail to your friends and will you use it yourself?
Definitely! I've already told my neighbours about all our hard work and I've told them if they want a good walk to come down here. It's a place I'd love to bring my dogs.
