Roots Walk to Work Week challenge:
This week was walk to work week, so our volunteers decided to set themselves a challenge. Using different modes of transport, our volunteers made their way to the Nature Trail (~5 miles), can you guess who arrived first?
1st Place: JACK - Cycling (24 minutes)
2nd Place: RICH - Car (24 minutes 20 seconds)
3rd Place: HARRY & LUKE - Jogging (36 minutes)
4th Place: RYAN - Waking (62 minutes)
5th Place: TASH - Bus (90 Minutes)
When everyone eventually arrived on the nature trail after our Walk to Work Week challenge, Emma was waiting for us at the camp and after a quick breather we got got stuck into work.
I went with Maria to collect old plant pots to use in making our latest sculpture, a man-sized pot man at the start of the trail. Emma took Rich, Harry and Jon to continue with their wildlife surveys they started on Tuesday.
Jack and Luke made a start on putting in posts for handrails on the boardwalk along the steeper part of the path.
After a couple of hours working we met at the camp for lunch and this week was another birthday, we presented Robyn with her card and cake and sang to her and then tucked in.
Tash and Robyn took on the challenge of tidying up our reckless shed and Maria and I made good progress on our pot man. After, we all packed up and got ready to leave, this time by mini bus or car. Well done everyone on your walk to week challenges!
