Sinking feet, aching backs and muddy bums, it was hard work but we did it. We managed to remove the worst of the scrap and then rake it over, to tidy it up we made some wood piles on top, these will be good for animal habitats. We had definitely earned our lunches today, We sat around on the small platform down by where we had been digging, Chris also joined us for a brew. We used a couple of railway sleepers and Jacks bench to sit on, it was very comfy I must say. The next job for us was to put in the display boards.
After a dirty morning this seemed like a pleasurable job, how very wrong. More flaming digging. You've heard of people finding oil under the ground, well Maria and I seem to find bricks under the ground anywhere we dig. Every time we put our spade into the ground we started to vibrate. But I have to say, once all the boards were in, it looked great. To see all our hard work coming together is something truly special and rewarding. We were all very tired and in need of a bath and back massage by the end of it.
By the end of the day we found ourselves sat on a fallen tree, leaning on one another, It was very comfortable using Emma as a back rest I have to say. A huge well done to Jack, Emma, Tash and Maria for today, and until next time,
