Since 1995, Fairtrade Fortnight has aimed to raise awareness of Fairtrade products and the simple choices which we, as consumers, can make which impact producers around the world
What is Fairtrade?
Fairtrade helps to ensure that the people producing and working with the things we buy are paid fair prices, given decent working conditions and fair terms in trading.
What are the benefits?
Fairtrade helps to support farming communities, helping them to develop and thrive, and protecting the environment in which they live and work. Fairly-traded products pay better minimum prices to farmers, and help increase investment in community projects. It helps to ensure that small-scale farmers are not overlooked or neglected, giving them a better standard of life through improving their business.
How does this involve me?
When you buy products with the FAIRTRADE Mark, you are helping to support farming and worker communities and improving their lives. The ingredients in a fairtrade product have been produced by small farming organisations or plantations which meet social, economic and environmental standards.
