WASH (World Action on Salt and Health) runs salt awareness week every year , with the aim of highlighting how important it is to reduce your intake of salt
Every year Salt Awareness Week focuses on a particular topic. This year focuses on children and salt, reducing their salt intake and therefore reducing the number of people suffering from cardiovascular disease.
Encouraging healthy lifestyles from an early age is so important, and as part of the week they will be encouraging the food industry to act more responsibly by reducing the amount of salt they add to children's food, as well as reduce the amount of adverts for high-salt foods to children.
